Our guarantee and return procedures
1. Our Commitment to Satisfaction
At Bill Peters Plumbing & Heating, we stand behind the quality of our workmanship and the products we install. Our goal is your complete satisfaction with every service we provide. If you are not satisfied with our work, we want to know about it and will work to make it right.
2. Workmanship Warranty
All our labor and installation work is backed by a written warranty. The specific warranty terms depend on the type of service performed:
- Water Heater Repairs: 90-day warranty on labor and parts replaced
- Water Heater Installations: 1-year warranty on labor
- Tankless System Installations: 2-year warranty on labor
- Maintenance Plans: Work performed under maintenance agreements carries a 6-month warranty
Manufacturer warranties apply to all parts and equipment. Specific warranty details will be provided with your service agreement or invoice.
3. Refund Policy for Services
We do not offer refunds for completed services that have been performed as agreed and meet industry standards. However, if you are dissatisfied with our work:
- Contact us within 30 days of service completion
- Describe the issue in detail
- We will inspect the work and determine if it meets our quality standards
- If the work is found to be defective or not performed according to the agreement, we will correct the issue at no additional charge
- If the issue cannot be resolved to your satisfaction, we may offer a partial refund or credit at our discretion
4. Equipment and Parts
Water heaters and other equipment purchased through Bill Peters Plumbing & Heating are covered by manufacturer warranties. Returns or exchanges of unused equipment may be accepted within 30 days of purchase if:
- The equipment is in its original, unopened packaging
- You have a valid receipt or invoice
- The equipment is not a special order or custom installation
Installed equipment cannot be returned unless it is defective or was installed incorrectly. In such cases, we will work with the manufacturer to arrange replacement or refund.
5. Diagnostic Fees
Diagnostic and inspection fees are non-refundable, even if you choose not to proceed with the recommended repair or installation. These fees cover the technician's time, expertise, and travel to your location.
However, if you proceed with the recommended service, the diagnostic fee will be applied toward the total cost.
6. Emergency Service Calls
Emergency service call fees ($99) are non-refundable. This fee covers the after-hours dispatch and travel costs. If emergency service is performed, the call fee will be applied to the total invoice amount.
7. How to Request a Refund or Warranty Service
To request a refund, warranty service, or report an issue with completed work:

Please have your invoice number and service date ready. We will review your request and respond within 3-5 business days.
8. Exceptions
We reserve the right to refuse refunds or warranty claims if:
- The issue resulted from misuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance by the customer
- The work was altered or repaired by someone other than our technicians
- The claim is made after the warranty period has expired
- The customer cannot provide proof of service (invoice, work order)
9. Manufacturer Warranties
All water heaters and equipment come with manufacturer warranties. These warranties are separate from our workmanship warranty. We will assist you in filing manufacturer warranty claims, but the final approval and coverage determination is made by the manufacturer.
